"Art OnThe Lake"at Miromar Lakes This Sunday

MIROMAR LAKES, FL. - Miromar Lakes will take advantage of its unique lakeside setting for an "Art on the Lake" event open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2009. This is a rare opportunity to pass the signature fountain, enter the wrought iron gates of this luxurious private community and stroll the South-of-France, Cannes-inspired Promenade along Lake Maggiore for a day of fine art, entertainment and food.
Work by numerous Southwest Florida artists will be on display including watercolors, sculpture, photography, layered imagery, outdoor paintings, jewelry and many other techniques. The pieces will also be available for purchase.
Among the artists whose works will be displayed is Marjorie Peek. Peek is the creator of Layered ImageryTM, a name for the technique she developed and has been practicing over the past 20 years. With this technique, she assembles hundreds of photographic images into a single mosaic work of art. Each piece takes several intensive weeks to create. She has created works for private collectors in Europe and throughout the United States.
International artist Danielle Felicie, whose works hang throughout the award-winning Miromar Lakes Beach Club, will be exhibiting her mixed-media, multi-dimensional paintings. Danielle's work, which is spiritually inspired by her background as a certified clinical hypnotist, has been exhibited in Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and the United States.
Patty Kane's "plein air" watercolors and acrylic painting reflect coastal lifestyle. Kane is an award-winning artist and art instructor whose works have appeared in numerous juried shows and are in many private and corporate collections. Several other artists from throughout Southwest Florida will participate in Art on the Lake.
Southern Extreme Water-Ski Team, the 2007 Sunshine State Champions, will perform on Lake Maggiore at 1:30 p.m. and live tropical music will be played throughout the afternoon. Admission is free. Food and beverages will be available for sale. For more information, call (239) 908-2387.
